Unable to Add Indicator to charts

Hello,

I am trying to add some custom indicators that I have copied to the NT6.5/bin/custom/indicator folder, However, when I try to add indicators to the chart the indicator doesn't even show up in the list.

The only indicators that I am able to add are the one prebuilt in.

Please help, I even uninstalled and re-installed another copy from another broker.

Hi klmklm,

Thank you for your post, and welcome to the forum.

Typically when installing custom indicators they are included as part of a .zip file. You then import by going to File-->Utilities-->Import NinjaScript then selecting the .zip file.

Now, within those .zip files are .cs files for the particular indicators which you can place directly in the folder you mention. To get them to show in the available indicators list you will then to compile your indicators.

To compile:
1. Please go to Tools-->Edit NinjaScript-->Indicators
2. From the ensuing window please select any indicator as compiling one will compile all. I usually recommend the ADL. To open you can double-click, or highlight and then hit Open.
3. In the ensuing programming window please right click and then select Compile.

Once your indicators compile successfully you can then add them to any window in NinjaTrader that uses indicators, including charts, or the Market Analyzer.
