For example I want to chart the spread between May 07 Soy Beans with May 08 Soy Beans.

Sorry I still don't understand. Do you want to display 2 different instruments on one chart? If so, then this is not supported.

Yes that's right. I'd like to chart the difference between two instruments (instrument 1 - instrument 2). It would also be nice if we could customize the spreads for example

(2 x instrument 1) - (3 x instrument 2)

I would think you could create a custom indicator, assign the different instruments as inputs with a simple minus function, and then drop this indicator to create the "spread chart". No ?

Unfortunately, multiple instruments on an indicator (not strategy!) are not supported.

To spread means to go long one market (A) and hedge that position by going short another (B). You chart this by plotting a chart for A-B.

It would be great if Ninja Trader offered spread charting. I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to calculate the formulas involved.

This will be supported in NinjaTrader 7. Its beta version is expected to be released the first quarter of 2009.

could you please confirm that NT7 is going to provide spread charting.

I have looked on the page witn NT7 features list and can only see multiple TFs and instruments one under another on the same chart, but not spreads.

maxima, unfortunately not natively as charttype, but you can achieve what you need through the use of a custom indicator working with multiple symbols, as NinjaTrader 7 adds support for multiple series in indicators.
