Can you import a symbol list into the market analyzer or instrument manager?

Hello,

I have an excel file with about 350 symbols that I would like to import into the market analyzer. Is there any way to import this list either in the Market analyzer or Instrument manager? I would hate to have to type each symbol by hand since this excel list changes from week to week. Thank you

Thank you for your post.

You can use the "import stock symbol list" feature found under File > Utilities.

In excel, save the file as comma separated values. Open this file in a text editor (notepad) and copy paste directly into the box or save the file as txt and load.

Actually one other thing I forgot to ask earlier, is it possible to add breaks in the rows to organize your symbols in the market analyzer, and then add a line of text where you can say what that category is? If I had 350 symbols listed, it would be nice to be able to break them up into categories rather then just 1 big list (so a group of symbols for retail, another for financials, another for Telecom, etc). Right now I have a separate market analyzer for each sector that I'm looking at which takes up quite a bit of screen space. Thank you.

This is coming in version 7 but right now not available. You will be able to Right Click and create additional blank rows or label rows.
