IB Forex Partial fills Idealpro

I had an incident with an automated strategy where my profit target (limit order) got partial fills to the point in which the residual 10,000 EURUSD was smaller then the minimum required = 17,000. This caused IB to re-route 10,000 from IDEALpro to IDEAL. The residual took an extra 2 seconds and 4 pips of slippage, however the main concern is that it caused NT strategy to Stop.

I spoke with IB they said this will always happen no matter the size of original order. My strategy has done 200 trades in the last month, this is the first instance. Is there a way to designate a minimum, in this case 17,000 in order to prevent this from happening again? TIA

Hi rightcoast,

Unfortunately there is no way to control this. Any partial fills are not controlled by NinjaTrader, but rather, the exchange and the natural transfer of contracts.

Understand that the broker handles orders in the way I mentioned, however are you saying NT has no way of controling itself from cancelling
the strategy when this occurs? Thanks

Hi rightcoast,

By default, NinjaTrader cancels the strategy when it encounters an order error.

You can ignore all errors by setting...
RealtimeErrorHandling = RealtimeErrorHandling.TakeNoAction;
