    Daily Chart - Current (Last) day shows as ZERO

    Hi,

    Newbie here to NT. Here is my situation..
    Data connection: PFG Best
    Chart: Daily (180 days)
    "Historical Data" Plots fine
    The Current /Last Day plots as Zero - Causes Scale issues

    As a Newbie, it is probably a setting I can control - but i don't know. I have done a couple of quick searches, but not found anything yet..

    Thanks in Advance for any advice or suggestions.

    Hello Snoopy,

    Can you please tell me what instrument you have selected in the chart. If you select a different instrument, does the issue persist?

    If you select the same instrument in the Control Center, what price is reflected?

    In addition, could you please post a screenshot of your chart if possible.

      Thanks for the QUICK reply...

      NOTE: Using the PFG BestDirect 8 as the trading platform (using Demo of NT). Will this cause any problems?

      Instrument is HEM0 in PFG or HE 06-10 in NT. I got filled on a trade this morning, so wanted to look at the Daily chart (to set up a stop loss). Since I know Ihad a trade, I thought if I showed the 10 min chart it should be visible as well... not...

      For your questions: Other Instrument - ES seems to be OK. Both Control Centre and Market Analyzer do not show current prices.

      I have to step out for a few hours, so I will try whatever you suggest when I get back.

        Hello Snoopy,

        Using the free NinjaTrader version should not be an issue.

        Can you please try the following steps. Restart NinjaTrader and go to Tools-->Instrument Manager and remove the HE 04-10 from your instrument list.


        Highlight the HE in the 'Available master instruments' section and click Edit. Select the Misc-tab.

        Make sure HE is entered next to PFG and click Ok.

        Add the HE 04-10 to your instrument list and check if you receive real-time data.

          Fixed Real Time, Still have issue with Daily

          Jason, THANKS. Now I will know where to start if I don't get Real Time Data. So, Any ideas on why the Daily Still does not show the last day (Current) with a price? Thanks.

            Can you please close the current daily chart and create a new one via File-->New-->Chart.

            Make sure the current date is entered next to 'Last date'. Check if you receive real-time data in the chart.

              Now a HUGE Candle

              Jason, ES still working.

              HE - shows HUGE Candle from Zero to Last price - Matches PFG Best

              NG - shows HUGE Candle form Zero to a price - Does not Match PFG Best

                I am able to reproduce the bar on NG 07-10. The daily bar contains a price of zero.

                However I do not receive any data as per the HE 06-10.

                NinjaTrader acts like a radio receiver and displays the data from the data feed you connect. I am not sure why such a price is reported. I suggest to contact PFG for clarification.

                What happens if you create a chart for the HE 04-10?

                  HE 04 just gives the Zero price - no candle.

                  The chart(s) in the PFG Application show proper data (No zero price in the NG 07.

                  I guess it could be an API issue.

                  I won't worry about it yet, I will try again starting Sunday evening and see how things go during the week. I want to give it a couple of days to see what happens, and be able to be here in front of the screen if we want to test.

                  I do want to say THANK YOU. This support is FANTASTIC.

                  If I still have issues next week, do you want me to start a new thread, or just get this one going again?

                      Had same problem and found that the session template was causing the problem. Look under Data Series, Data tab on right, Session template, try another one of these

                        Hello KeithH,

                        You likely refer to a known issue in NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.6. The issue causes daily charts not to display data using most session templates. It is solved by using the 'Default 24/7' session template.

                        Please make sure the 'Default 24/7' session template is selected in the chart. Please right click in the chart and select 'Data Series'. Set 'Session template' to 'Default 24/7' and check if you display price bars.

                        The issue will be fixed in the next version (7.0.1000.7) and does not occur in version 7.0.1000.5 either which is still available on our download page.
