    How do I move an set of ATM strategies from one machine/system to another?

    I am looking to move a set of ATM strategies/templates I have created from a test machine to a live machine - is there a way to copy a set of "xml" files etc to do this or is it not possible to move templates??

    Hi dnoff,

    Thank you for your post.

    ATM strategy templates are stored within the NinjaTrader database. Unfortunately, it is not possible to export these from the database.

    For your purposes, you have two options:

    1.) Create a backup of the database on PC-A, transfer the backup to PC-B and restore.

    For more information about backing up: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...ABackupArchive

    For more information about restoring from a backup: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...ABackupArchive

    2.) Alternately, you could record the settings you are using then recreate the templates on the other PC.

      Has there been any progress on this in NT7? Is there a convenient way to copy the ATM strategies now? Thx.

        Hi BradB,

        ATM strategies are still saved in the NinjaTrader database, although this database is much smaller compared to 6.5.

        NT7 databases contain trade executions, and ATM strategy templates, but no longer historical data.

          OIF files

          Ryan,
          I have created OIF.txt files for certain trades through OIF Builder and saved them off to a certain directory.

          For example:
          OIFBUY.txt is

          CANCELALLORDERS;;;;;;;;;;;;
          CLOSEPOSITION;SIM101;ES 09-11;;;;;;;;;;
          PLACE;SIM101;ES 09-11;BUY;1;MARKET;0;0;DAY;;;;

          and
          OIFSELL.txt is

          CANCELALLORDERS;;;;;;;;;;;;
          CLOSEPOSITION;SIM101;ES 09-11;;;;;;;;;;
          PLACE;SIM101;ES 09-11;SELL;1;MARKET;0;0;DAY;;;;

          Yesterday, I would simply copy and paste them into the Incoming directory and the AT interface would execute them just fine.

          Today they just sit there in the incoming directory and will not execute. The AT interface is definitely ON

          What am I doing wrong? What is the best practice for populating the incoming directory with OIF files not using OIF Builder?
          Thanks
