PFG BD8 hangs NT

I have a strange effect while using NT6 (6.5.1000.14) with PFG's client BESTDirect8 (BD8).

If I start first BD8 and then NT, NT shows the control center and remain hanging. After killing the NT process and a new attemt, NT runs normally.

If I first run NT and then BD8, everything work correctly.

This effect is repeatable on differnt computers and different PFG accounts.

Is this a known behaviour?

Hi,

The normal procedure is to bring up NT and connect to PFG. Then the PFG API should open up automatically and NT will connect, just like you experienced.

Bringing it up vice versa is not what we support. See here for the official set up and connection instructions:

thank you for the prompt reply. I probably did not formulate my question clearly.

The Account Connection to PFG does not require the PFG client to run. The PFG Trade Server Interface contacts directly the PFG servers. On my computer it is obviously setup correctly, as I can connect to my PFG account and use it.

The problem comes if I additionally start the PFG client (BestDirect8) before I start NT. In this case NT freezes on startup. To me this looks like a bug in NT, as the freeze comes before I have the chance to connect from File/Connect.

The workaround is easy: I just have to start NT before the PFG client. However I was wondering if someone else came across this effect.

At all times, with all connections you need to bring up NT first and then connect.

If you just open up NT first you should have no issues.
