No Data Loading

I installed the latest version 6.5 and have been trying to get it to work.

I cannot seem to get it to do anything. It seems like data is not loading.

For example when I do File>New>Chart... I get the "Format Data Series" window.

There, for the "type" selection it says <Default>. For the "Name" selection it says "ES 03-10". And interval settings is 1 Minute. And 15 days back.

When I click OK I get an empty chart.

I tried the same with <Dow 30> and stock AA (alcoa) ... Nothing.

Nothing works in the Strategy Analyzer either. If I right click on a stock and go "BackTest" everything comes up zeros and there is no backtest.

Am I missing something basic here or does it sound like it's not going to work on my machine. I'm running Vista/Intel chip on a 1 year old laptop with lots or RAM.

Actually I played around with it a bit more and I am figuring it out.
I loaded my own futures tick data and looking at the strategy wizard.

For many years I have been a TradeStation user to do backtests/system design. Ninja, from what I can see, looks more robust and the calculation time is faster.

here are a couple of things I tried:
tools>account connections>add...>yahoo
tools>options>misc> repair DB, Reset DB, Reset Instruments
File>Connect>Yahoo
File>New>Chart... Here make sure you select Daily Bars. You will not get intraday from Yahoo.

Also I've realized that the install does not come with intraday history. If I run in simulation mode, I have to wait for the ES contract to populate the bars in real time.

This is when I loaded my own tick data as 1 minute bars that I had previously purchased from a vendor.
