    How Can This Be Done?

I want to plot a line chart (close only) and have the up closes print green and the down closes print red. I have searched the help files and played with the chart settings but I have been unable to figure out how to do this.

    Best Regards
    Max

    Hello Maxreturn,

    Thank you for your post.

This is not possible except with custom programming.

With custom programming you could draw a one period SMA with multiple plots and set the plots depending on the condition. Your price bars would be set as transparent.

This reference sample below might help with this idea.

Thanks for the response Ryan. I would like to submit this as an improvement to future releases. Many other charting programs have this capability.

I need to ask you another question. Is it possible to customize where the horizontal grid lines are drawn? For example, I have a monthly SP500 chart up on my screen and I would like them at 100 intervals only. For example, at 1100, 1200...etc.

      Best Regards
      Max

        Thank you for your reply.

I will forward this along to my development team for consideration as an addition to future releases.

            Thanks for the contribution, eDanny!

Maxreturn, you can set the Horizontal grid line interval in chart properties. Right click on chart > Properties.

Thanks Ryan, but this only allows to specify grid line intervals for intra- day charts only. Why is that? Can you please add this to suggestion list for next release?

Hello Danny. When I plotted this on my monthly SP500 chart there are significant gaps where nothing plots. This is regardless of which dash and plot styles I use. Thanks.

                    Sure thing, Max.

Alternatively you can apply the indicator "Constant Lines" to your chart. This can display up to 4 lines at user specified intervals. It has also been modified in the FileSharing section to include more lines.

Hello Ryan. I searched the Indicator download section and could not find the indicator with more lines. Could you point me in the right direction?

Hello Danny. Yes, the hash marks work fine but something goes wrong when I choose line as the plot style. Take a gander.

Sorry, was thinking of something else. I had modified this some time ago. Attached is 8-line constant line indicator.
