    Days back for a strategy

When we open a chart (File -> New -> Chart) there's a "Days back" that allows you to specify how many days back we should be able to view. We noticed that for some indicators the number of days makes a difference in how these indicators look.

When configuring a strategy to run against live data, or anything else, we don't have a "days back" option to configure (we haven't found one). For this reason the strategy is working with different data than what we're looking at in the chart.

So, is there a way to tell the strategy to look back a certain amount of days like we can for charts?

    Thanks.

    pbz1111,

A strategy runs with the same data as the chart you applied the strategy onto. If you are loading it from the strategies tab, you should have the option for how many days back you want to run it on.

Yes, we're loading it from the Strategy tab; I don't see anywhere we could specify the number of days back. We're using version 6.5.

In 6.5, the days back is determined in Tools>Options>Data for the default lookback days depending on the period interval type you select in the Strategies dialogue.

So if you chose minutes, default is 15 days back.
