IQFeed and InteractiveBrokers

Hello,

I subscribe to IQFeed for my emini futures tick data, and use IB as my brokerage.

I am not sure what is the best way to set up my connection in NT with these two.

Up till now - I'd first connect to IQFeed as PRIMARY and then to IB as SECONDARY to execute orders... etc...

But certain indicators that I use - which are based off Level2 depth of market analysis, only work when I connect to IBTWS as my primary source - because I don't have Level2 on my IQFeed...

My problem is that - if I want to use Level2 - I need IBTWS as PRIMARY but then how do I get my tick data from IQFeed? Won't all the data be streamed from IB?

And if I set up IQFeed as Primary - then all the charts draw data from IQFeed first - and I cannot plot any Level2 depth of market indicators

I am thinking of creating a connection for IB where for historical tick data I would use external server - which would be IQFeed - but I am not sure that this will solve the fact that any new realtime "tick" data plotted will be the approximated IB data... so in effect the history will be accurate - but real time ticks will not...

I am not sure how to proceed - does anyone know how best I can utilise these two connections I have available?

sodaboy, thanks for the post - unfortunately all data is taken from the primary connection (true for all instrument categories here, since IQ supports them all) -

Thus to drive your indicators needing L2 data, please add this to your IQ subscription.
