Continuation Charts Futures

Hi,
is there a way to set a symbol mapping for
contracts you design in your dataprovider.
For example, in tradestation you can
design "@CLG10=105XC" for a CL contract that rolls
a few days before expiration. Can you bring such contract
in NT real - time ? Which continuous contract can you bring in
(@CL - i.e., the default one only?)

Thank you for your post.

Unfortunately I do not have access to the CL contract but have tested this with the QM contract and was able to receive data for the QMG10=105XC. Please use the Steps I have provided below to set this up for the CL contract.

• Set my chart to CLG10=105XC within TradeStation
• NinjaTrader Control Center
• Tools
• Instrument Manager
• Select CL from the Available master instrument list
• Edit
• Misc tab
• Change the mapping next to External to CL=105XC as referenced in the screen shot below
• Click Ok
• Remove CL from your Default list and add it back in with the expiry set to 01-10

Please let me know if you receive data after this procedure.

I do see the chart populating with real-time data.
Q: How could you populate the NT chart with Historical for
the particular setup of the continuation contract ?

Possible to get continuation chart for CL, I use IB. Also for NG

Also IB often has error when asking for historical data.... unreal

Continuous contract data for any future which IB offers should be avaialble under the '##-##' expiry code. For example: CL ##-##

Continuous contract instruments can be added to the Default instrument list by following the steps outlined here: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...ment_lists.htm
