Hi, can imported historical data for cash equity indices as opposed to futures be used for charting purposes?

Equities are supported by NT, so yes you can. You will need a data provider that supports equities in order to get live equities data. You can check here:

Importing historical data will be better in NT7:

Hi Ben, I was asking about equity indices like S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, Nikkei 225. If I have the data available in the prescribed format, and I would like to create a ticker for it, how do I go about creating the ticker if the data is not provided by one of your data vendors?

Thanks Ben. I was looking for a work-around as I wanted to use ninjatrader for backtesting as well. I've figured it out. All good.
