GAIN datafeed

Hi Support,

This is the second time when I am facing this issue, twice in a row for 2 days. I am connected to GAIN with Ninja Trader Server and Demo mode. Today in the morning the data doesn't seem to get updated. Reload Historical Data only refreshes the chart with current values however it is not updated in real time. Also there is no quote on Bid/Ask side of the chart panel as can be seen from the attached image. Your help in resolving this issue is appreciated.

Hello Yusuf,

Can you please right click in the chart and select 'Format Data Series'. Make sure the current date is entered next to 'Last date'. Check if the chart will receive real-time data.

If not, please close the current chart and open up a new one via File-->New-->Chart and check once more.

Hello Yusuf,

Can you please restart NinjaTrader and try again. I tested an EURUSD chart while connected to Gain and I received real-time data as expected, see screenshot.

Thanks for your reply. GAIN datafeed is not getting real time update. I just opened a chart and the price remains at the same point and just does not move. Click on Reload historical Data and then it moves to the last price. I am attaching the chart screenshot where you can see that I am also getting the same chart you are showing to me. However this chart on real time is not getting any datafeed and hence not getting updated. Also it does not show Bid/Ask quotes on the RH pane as you can see it. I have also attached the order window in image 'Error 1' and you can see that I am connected to GAIN and the Bid/Ask Price and even the Last Price does not match with the Real time Price. I hope you understand what I am trying to say.

Kindly resolve the issue.

Can you please check once more if the chart is using the current date as 'Last date' in the Format Data Series window.

You do receive real-time data in NinjaTrader (as per the Control Center screenshot), just not the chart.

If the issue remains, please check what date is listed as per your PC clock.

Hi Jason,

The dat on my PC clock is set as 17 Dec 2009 which is same as Last Date mentioned under Format Data Series menu. Still no RT data. I belive something wrong at GAIN datafeed, not sure though. Just waiting and watching.

Could you please check if the last date is being used by the chart as well.

I connect to the same Gain demo connection and I receive real-time data in the Control Center and chart for the EURUSD.

Once there is a tick change, you should see the Bid and Ask prices in ChartTrader. When you open up a new chart and there is no tick change, there will be no Bid and Ask data displayed in ChartTrader, only when price has changed.

Note that it is not very volatile at the moment, so it could seem as there is no real-time data.

I fully understand what you are trying to say Jason. However if you see my last to last post where i have attached 2 screenshots, it will show you that once loaded, the price on the chart are current AT THAT POINT IN TIME ONLY and does not move unless RELOADED. Whereas in the Control Centre, the Prices shown are totally wrong, not the one shown in your screenshot at the same point in time. You know what I mean. There is something wrong, seriously. Lets see who figure it out.

--> This indicates you load historical data from the historical data server. It will reload historical data up to the current time.

If you use the same connection (Gain demo), you should receive real-time data as well. This does not make sense.

If you disconnect/re-connect to Gain, do you see any errors in the Log-tab?

What happens if you select the GBPUSD; do you receive real-time data?

Same issue with GBPUSD as well.

Refer the attached screen.
See the current price (from a different platform) in the window behind NT window and see the price in NT control centre.

Log Entries shows something I do not understand to resolve. See the image attached.

Hope it resolves ASAP.

Are you sure your PC clock and the chart is set to today's date.

A price of 1.6329 last occurred yesterday when I check a GBPUSD chart. The last price you display for the EURUSD occurred last yesterday as well.

I recieve 1.6092 as Last price currently for the GBPUSD.
