NT6.5 Reversal Bar Type

I am running NT6.5 at the moment and have added a "Reversal" bar type at some point to my install. I can select this Bar Type via Format Data Series...Interval Settings. They are somewhat like point and figure bars (which I understand NT7 has, making the reversal bars obsolete).

Anyhow, I can't seem to find the original install file. I have also searched through all of my NT6.5 install folders, My Documents, etc. Searched everywhere for what has enabled this bar type on my charts and found nothing. No indicator .cs, no Type .cs, no .dll, nothing! Strange.

First, I'm a little bit disturbed that I've installed something to my NT6.5 without any trace of it anywhere (other than it is now selectable on my charts). I'd also like to have a copy of the original files so I know what has enabled this bar type. Is anyone familiar with this bar type and can they point me to where I can find the original files? I have found nothing via the common search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc.).

Also, to any of the NT experts, where else should I look for what has enabled this bar type on my charts?? I have searched through every single NT6.5 folder and any related folders on my computer without finding anything.

Thank you for your post.

It is likely that the .zip containing this indicator was simply deleted.

Please click Tools > Edit NinjaScript > Indicator.
In the edit indicator menu, you should see that indicator listed.

If you can provide me with the exact name of the indicator, I should be able to help you track down the installation files somewhere on our support forum.

Thanks for the reply. The file I am trying to find isn't an indicator, it is a custom bar TYPE someone has custom coded (like Renko, RangeAlt, etc.) now selectable on my charts in the Format Data Series...[Bar] Interval Settings (not the indicator panel).

And I've scoured through all the NT6.5 install folders and in My Documents looking for any hint of a file that enables this Bar TYPE and found nothing. I've also clicked Tools > Edit Ninja Script > Indicator and it is NOT there (it is not an indicator anyhow). Something I've installed months ago has altered my NT install, I cannot determine what files have been altered to enable this bar type, and I can no longer locate the original install files. While my NT6.5 works just fine, it is a little disturbing to not know how this new bar type was enabled.

I was hoping someone on the forum might be familiar with this bar type and could point me to where it can be found (the original install file).

Thank you for your reply.

The files that allow for custom bar types such as those you mention are classified as indicators. As such, this should be listed within the edit indicators menu.

I currently have installed: RangeAlt, Renko, MedianRenko, SbsRenko, EdsRenko, RangeNoGap, and Reversal bar types, all selectable (in addition to the standard types). None of these, except MedianRenko, turn up in the Edit Ninja Script -> Indicators list ???

I found the RangeAlt, Renko, SbsRenko, EdsRenko, RangeNoGap *.cs files in my My Documents/NT6.5/bin/Custom/Type folder, and I've found MedianRenko.cs in the Indicator folder, but "Reversal" is just not there in either location. Nowhere to be found on any of my drives partitions. Where else should I look the files which enable this bar type?

I will begin loading each indicator file individually to see if I can find the right one. It must be incorrectly named, no other explanation I can come up with.

I believe that loading each individually is likely your best bet at this point.

In C# you can define multiple classes within one file, so its possible it lives within another file that you don't expect - for example, @BarsTypes.cs contains many class definitions of various bar types. So instead of searching for a file, you may have to do full-text searching across your .cs files to find the code.

Otherwise its possible it lives within a DLL that you imported - you can check for 3rd party DLLs via right click indicator editor and choose References...

FYI - The fin-alg Market Balance ninjascript adds a reversal bar.

As ghoti mentioned in his last reply, 'the fin-alg Market Balance ninjascript adds a reversal bar.'
