Does chart load data in 1 day increments?

I tried to increase time of chart loading by setting it by # of bars instead of days... my day is set to 1 but I used the # of bars that would represent a couple of hours... but it seemed to take just as long as day = 1

Does ninja grab data in a minimum chunk size of 1 day ? this is what I suspect because of this behaviour...

basically I would like to know if there is any advantage in me using # of bars vs 1 day

Thank you for your post.

NinjaTrader will retrieve the amount of data that you specify within the Format Data Seriese window and does request more that what is specified.

When using less days back or bars back this will reduce your PC resources.

hmm, thats what I wanted to do... I wonder why it doesn't save any time though when I specify only about 1/4 of the bars in a day...

ok I think I've figured it out... cause i just set the bars ridiculously low... it's another bottleneck somewhere in the loading of the data on this particular connection... must be some necessary overhead no matter how much data is loaded. cause ridiculously low bars and 1 day take about the same time to load the chart.
