Order rejected error 203

I am connected to IB TWS 870.2 using NT 6.01 doing automated trading. Most of my orders are being placed fine, but I have gotten the error msg:

"The security "xxx" is not available or allowed for this account.
If this security should be available, please contact customer service. (203)"

with two different securities (replace "xxx" with symbol in msg) today 3 times in two different accounts. These were sell orders of securities held in the account. Immediately after I got the error msg I successfully placed the order by hand using the TWS interface.

Can you please tell me how to avoid this?

- which instruments are these and which exchanges are assigned in Tools->Instrument manager for these exchanges?

I am currently using NT 6.0.1000.2

These are stocks, e.g., BVN listed on the NYSE. I do not normally go into the Tools-Instrument manager.

So please do that and let me know which exchange(s) are assigned to BVN. Thanks

I added BVN into the Instrument Manager and it just says Default in the Exchange drop down list and also the Default box is checked in the Instrument Editor dialog box in the check box list under Exchanges.

Please make sure it has these exchanges assigned: Default, Nyse

Ok, I did that for this stock and the other one that had a problem, but I trade with 100's of symbols, is there any way to avoid having to do this for all of them to make sure they will trade properly. As I said most are working find and only have Default as their exchange.

Sorry, you would need to do that for all stocks you experience the trouble with.
