Dual vs Quad in 6.5 ?

Just looking for some info as I am thinking about upgrading from a dual core to a quad core . Maybe a Q8200 with appropriate mother board . Wondering
what cpu load reduction I could expect both in light and heavy volume times.
Running XP Pro . Cpu usage can get to 60% when volume is heavy and NT
becomes sluggish . I read some where that the more monitors you have will
have an impact also . Running 6 currently . Just wondering about other peoples experience with similar setups . tia .

- in principle higher performing CPUs/core make sense
- dual/quad core should not make much difference with NT6.5/NT6
- quad core would make sense over dual cure with NT7, since NT7 would use multiples cores better

Unfortunately we don't any more detailed info (e.g. numbers, stats etc.).
