Chart perspective keeps changing

When I look at a range of bars, the program automatically zooms in.
Which means if I am looking at a narrow trading range I don't know it because the chart scales to fit the window.

Is there any way to turn this off?

I want zoom out and be able to pan and keep my perspective.

DancesWithBears, the chart would be autoscaled to the visible high / low extremes, in our upcoming NinjaTrader 7 you can set a fixed scale to maintain proportions then.
