    IB Problems: Urgent

    For the first time ever, I had a problem connecting to IB. As far as I know, no updates were installed. I was running Java 6 Update 13, Ninja 6.5.1000.12, and an older version of TWS. So, first obvious thing to do is upgrade all to the latest. So I did, and still no luck. What it does, is says Connected, but the box does not turn green. Here are the versions that I am running:

    Java: 1.6.0_16
    TWS: 898.4
    Ninja: 6.5.100.14

    Please help!

    Hello lawyse,

    Thank you for your note.

    This is typically an indication of a corruption in the NinjaTrader database.

    Please rename your database using the steps listed below. This will cause NinjaTrader to create a new database. As such, ATM Strategy templates will need to be recreated and historical chart data will need to be reloaded.


    To rename the DB:
    • Shutdown NinjaTrader and Go to the Start Menu
    • Select My Documents--> NinjaTrader 6.5--> DB--> NinjaTrader.MDB.
    • Right click on NinjaTrader.MDB and select "Rename."
    • Name it "NewNinjaTrader.MDB."
    • Then restart the software.

    Please let me know if this does not do the trick for you.

      Really? I have like 20 ATM templates... is there a way to save them before doing this? Thanks Kyle!

        Hi lawyse,

        Thank you for your reply.

        Unfortunately, there is no automated method with which to transfer these templates from one database to another. As such, you would need to record the settings and manually recreate the templates in your new database.

          What about this? Doing Repair DB or Reset DB under the Misc Tab?

            Hi lawyse,

            Thank you for your reply.

            In previous cases, the only solution was to rename the database. With that said, these options are, of course, worth a shot.
