    Login failed: Unable to initialize API: External component has thrown an exception

    I got " Login failed: Unable to initialize API: External component has thrown an exception." message. I must I do?

    Hello sigpro,

    Please try recreating the connection via Tools-->Account Connections. Connection guides can be found at the link below.


    Manually type in the connection information and check if the issue persists.

    If so, please check for software, such as (corporate) firewalls, spyware and anti-virus software, that could be blocking the connection.

    If the issue remains, please send me an email at support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com including all connection information. That way I can create and test your connection on my end.

        Hello - I'm having the same problem and recreating the account connection did not help - any suggestions?

            Hello Kyle,

            I turned off the anti-virus/anti-spyware protection and same result...

            Everything was working fine (and had been for many months) until yesterday when the "external component has thrown an exception" suddenly showed up.

            I will email you my connection details - hope it helps, JJ

              I removed everything from NT software from my computer including all backups (transferred data to another computer). Re-installed NT, things worked out ever since.
