Import data from Yahoo

I have been checking in the tutorial and i'm not sure if what i want is possible.


I would like to import SP500 yahoo data from http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=%5EGSPC 50 years of data into NT.

At the bottom of the page it says download to spreadsheet and it use CVS format file. Do i have to convert the CVS into .Text? How can i do that?

Once imported i would like to generate a chart with those data.

Is it possible?

Yes, in order to import data into NinjaTrader the data will need to be in .txt format.

Unfortuantely I am not aware of how to convert CVS to .txt. Maybe other users here on the forum will have some input on how to achieve this.

open the csv file in notepad and save the same as a txt file. that should do the trick. but before that you have to format the data as per nt structure.

Instead of going through the manual text file import process, I would use the built-in NT connection support for downloading historical data from Yahoo. See:
