    Automated Trading with Interactive Brokers

    I am new to Ninja Trader, but have used TradeStation for 4 years and Neuroshell Trader for 3 years; so I am familiar with strategy development, backtesting, out-of-sample etc. I have also used automated trading through TradeStation to the TradeStation brokerage and Neuroshell to Interactive Brokers.

    Have been evaluating Ninja Trader. Yesterday I purchased the live license for IB. I am using DTN for the real-time feed. I don't subscribe to data through IB. Yesterday, I tested a live ATM strategy against IB and everything seemed to work fine.

    I am trying to connect a simple Ninja Trader strategy that I developed to one of several accounts to IB. When I open the new stategy dialog in the contol center only the simulation account is available. I don't understand... the more I read, I am starting to beleive that this only does automated strategy trading to TradeStation. I have the same issue with the OIF builder... the account is set to sim101 and I can't select one of my IB accounts.

    What am I doing wrong???

    daddyolle, first of all welcome to the world of NinjaTrader!

    If you have your live license key entered under Help > License Key, please go to the File menu and uncheck the 'Global Simulation Mode', which 'locks' all order entry windows to the Sim101 account.

    After this, your IB live account should become selectable for strategy execution.

          Hi,

          I have an IB paper trader account that I have just connected with the free Ninjatrader so I can test automated trading between the two. I have the data coming into NT but when a trade is executed it doesn't show in my IB paper trader account.

          Have I missed something?
