NT6.5 and NT7 both can plot in real time indicators based on bid and ask volume. But the data get lost as soon as you change anything on the chart, and are not stored for historical refresh.

You can get around this limitation by using the GomCD indicators which allow you to plot and record the bid ask volume and the cumulative delta.

A simplified definition of Volume Delta is the difference between volume at the ask and volume at the bid of one bar. The sum of the deltas for a series of bars is the cumulative delta. This information can be much more revealing than the total volume. Without watching it, you are flying blind.

For the GomCD indicators you can do a search for "GomCD" and look in the threads titled "Tick Recording Indicator Framework" and "all GomRecorder Indicators". Many thanks are due to gomifromparis for these indicators.
    Thank you very much Ricam.

Here: http://emini-watch.com/free-stuff/vo...r-ninjatrader/ you can find what I am referring to. Some "problems" with computationally intensive task when processing ticks, setting not saved, ... etc.

      Thank you for your reply.

Our development team is currently in contact with BarChart regarding this issue. We will update this thread as more information becomes available.
Any update on the NT/Barchart volume issue? Barchart says "The problem was the API that we were on with the CME. As of December 23rd, we switched to their new API." I would like to get some confirmation from NT. Thanks.

          Barchart volume data

I noted that the barchart volume reporting problem seemed to happen with stocks, as well as with futures. Therefore I am concerned by their statement that it will be fixed by switching to the new CME API.

Previously they told me that it would be fixed in the next upgrade version of NT6.5, maybe three months ago or so. It wasn't.

Then they said it would be fixed in NT7. It wasn't.

Would be great if someone at Ninjatrader could keep tabs on this and let us know, based on actual testing, if problem has finally been resolved.

Barchart service is very good aside from volume reporting issues.

Guys, please see my posts below:
            - yes, there is an issue
            - the issue was reported and documented by us to barchart.com
            - we will let you know as it would be resolved

Not sure what else you would be looking for...

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Dierk - The reason that I had just asked this again is because I had an email from them today about the issue having been caused by the CME API and they said it was resolved. I was just trying to get confirmation from NT that it really was fixed. Apparently it hasn't been, which is too bad, because I am waiting on this before I subscribe to their service. Not trying to pester you. Was just trying to get an update based upon what they told me today. Thanks for working on this.

I can't comment the mail you are referring to. Please ask barchart.com for clarification.

We will let you know as the issue we're chasing is resolved.

barchart.com acknowledged a pending issue. We expect to have this issue resolved with next beta (within the next 2 weeks).

Thank you for your work on this. Do you know if this is also an issue in 6.5 since I don't have access to NT7? It looks like it will be fixed by the time I get access to NT7. Thanks.

Will the "fix" also fix 6.5 or can I hopefully expect access to NT7 in a couple of weeks?

I can understand NT putting emphasis on getting NT7 realeased, but until NT7 is ready for prime time will there be an update to 6.5 to fix the Barchart volume issue? Thanks.
