Balance calculation

Can someone help with the code to calculate the balance in the account including trades the current day?
Also, is there a way to print statements to the trace or log files from w/i the code. Instead of print() to watch in the output window, is there a way to print to the files to study later?

In NinjaTrader 7 you can just right click in the output window and then save the contents to a txt file.
