Instrument Lists and Data Subscription

I use ESignal for real time and historical data. The ESignal Data Monitor symbols window appears to show all of the symbols in all of my NT instrument lists as active. I frequently exceed my symbol limit because of this.

Is there a way to tell NT that it should only request data on active symbols?

Is NT caching the data from all of the symbols in all of the symbol lists?

Hello Ken,

NinjaTrader does not request data for all instruments listed in the instrument list; only instruments selected in a NinjaTrader window will request data.

Could it be you have workspaces running in the background that contain NinjaTrader windows that request data?

Check if you are running workspaces in the background (these will request data & resources as well) and close them. Can you please restart NinjaTrader and go to File-->Workspaces and check what workspaces are listed below 'Save Workspace As'. The workspace with the checkmark is the workspace opened on your monitor. Any additional workspaces listed, are opened in the background.

Select a workspace without a checkmark and subsequently go to File-->Workspaces-->Close Workspace. Repeat this process until only one workspace is opened.
