    blank charts

hi, i have a problem with my NT charts. when i start NT the charts load correctly as per my workspace. however when i connect to my data feed (Gain demo) the data download window pops up as per normal, but the data doesn't populate in some of the charts. i have 7 charts in my workspace and between 1 and 5 will popluate. the others remain blank and don't populate.

i have another workspace and when i switch to that one, the same charts aren't populated.

i'm running the latest version of NT (6.5.1000.13) as i just downloaded it in an attempt to try to fix this problem. i've also repaired the database, and moved my workspaces to another folder and re set them up. still when i open NT and connect to the data provider the charts don't populate.

are you able to help please?

    thanks.

Ben, which symbols charts are not populating well? Gain / Forex.com would only support Forex spot symbols - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...ricalData.html

it's only FX spot prices. they are eurusd, gbpusd, audusd, eurjpy, gbpjpy, usdjpy, usdchf.

        Ok,

        1. Please check if you receive live data for those symbols in the Control Center

        2. Please go to Tools > Account connections and ensure the historical data server is set to use the 'NinjaTrader server' in the setup for Gain / Forex.com, step 5 in this guide -

yes, my system is set up as per your point 2 above. i am getting live data because each time i connect some charts populate. currently they are all populated and working properly. this is after about 2 hours of closing, opening and reconnecting NT. i'm now scared to close NT as the charts take forever to populate each time i turn them on. i've noticed that if i keep closing NT and reopening it, eventually it works, but my second workspace isn't there when i click on file - workspaces. to open my second workspace i have to click on file - workspaces - open workspaces and then select it. not sure if that's related to the problem or not.

Ben, thanks for the reply, the second workspaces is still open if listed under File > Workspaces, but you can only see one at a time, to cycle quickly between them please use Shift + F3. How many days back are you loading on those currencies and are those tick or time based charts? Thanks

ok, thanks for the quick shifting tip. the data goes back 15 days at the moment. i could probably reduce this to about 5 or 10 days if it would help. all charts are time based, one workspace is 5 minute and the other is 3 minute.

                Hi Ben Sweet,

                Thank you for your reply.

Reducing the lookback period should help to improve performance.

ok, i'll reduce to 10 and see how i go.

so i guess NT is not suitable for end of day charting?

                    Hi Ben,

                    Thank you for your reply.

NinjaTrader is suitable for end-of-day charting.

Performance, however, will vary from PC to PC.

                        hi NT,

i reduced my days maintained to 10, but am still having the same problem. any more ideas on how this can be rectified?

Ben, just checked and get 10 or more of minute based data quickly - please try right clicking in the chart and then select to reload this historical data - does this populate the chart fully? If not, please contact me via the Help > Mail to Support feature in the software and include trace and logs for review, thanks
