Yahoo EOD VIX

Hi,

Is it possible to get the EOD VIX data from Yahoo in NT?

It is in the instrument list but no data is loading up as a chart in NT.

Hello rally,

Yes, please go to Tools-->Instrument Manager and remove the VIX from your default instrument list.

Highlight the VIX in the 'Available master instruments' section and click Edit. Select the Misc-tab and enter ^VIX next to Yahoo.

Add the VIX back to your instrument list and you should now be able to receive historical daily data with Yahoo.

Can you please tell me the symbol for this instrument. I am not sure what exact instrument you refer to.

If you refer to the FGBL future instrument, unfortunately this is not supported with Yahoo.

Yes I was referring to the FGBL.

Yahoo have the data on their website for it.

Isn't there a non-future Bund?

Unfortunately futures data is not supported with Yahoo in NinjaTrader as per the link below.

I am not sure if there is a non-future Bund. I suggest to check the exchange's website at the link below.

I managed to get the historical data, it is in CSV in a notepad file.

Is it possible to import that into NT?

Ah, it says the data has to have semicolon spacing, where as mine is comma spacing
