    questions adding single stock futures

I wanted to view a chart for a single stock future, AAPL as example

So, I attempted to add the instrument via Instrument Manager

    Tools->Instrument Manager

Here I selected 'New', an instrument editor window opens

What would be the master instrument? AAPL AAPLU, or AAPLU9?

Instument type I set to Future

What do I set for Rollover period? Exchange? It also asks me for a symbol map. What should I set for these values or where can I get this information?

    Hello Trader61,

    Thank you for your post.

AAPL is one of the preloaded instruments in NinjaTrader. If you specify the type as Stock and then type AAPL and then hit search you will see the preloaded AAPL instrument.

Then to add that instrument to an instrument list highlight it and then hit the '<' button.

Additionally, when adding instruments such as AAPL you will need to specify the type as Stock so that you do not need to input a front month.

I wanted to actually see AAPLU9 the futures contract, not just AAPL the stock.

      How would I see AAPLU9?

        Hi,

For that contract the front month will be 09-09. The rollover period will be 1 since the Single Stock Futures trade for every month. Additionally, the exchange is One.

Please see the following link for more contract specifications.

As for the symbol mapping you will want to contact your data provider, because this information changes based on each provider.

I'm trying to add the SSF to the Instrument Manager for AAPL underlying.. IB's symbol is AAPL1CU9 currently. I'm doing as per the instructions in this thread. An Error Message pops up saying "you must set at least one 'Symbol map' value... I can't see where that is to be entered... I can select type =future and input the underlying, AAPL and I get the same error message...

            Hello maxpi,

            Thank you for your post.

The underlying symbol map that IB provides is to be input after selecting to create a new instrument. In that pop up there is a 'Misc' tab and then in there is symbol mapping section. In the Symbol Map section place the underlying IB value in the Interactive Brokers field.
