Positions Empty - but strategy trading

I see my strategy trading, but there are NO postions in the Position tab. How can a strategy be trading but no positions open?

I checked my account is a demo - account sim101 and the strategy is also using sim101 account.

Most likely, your strategy is in a strategy position, but you are not in an account position. Please review the information at the link below to understand the difference between a strategy and account position.

adding a position

OK, so if the strategy is running but I do not see anything under the position tab, then the strategy is running in account mode and not live. So I have to actually stop the strategy and place a position in the same direction and restart the strategy. Is this the best way to get it going?

The strategy displays a position, since it has been calculated on historical data. As per these calculations the strategy is in a position. However, the strategy did not trigger any orders in real-time, so that is why you do not have an account position.

If you like to have the strategy and account position in synch, you would need to submit a manual order.
