NT Restore to a brand new hard drive:

I have recently installed a new hard drive and am starting from scratch with a clean install of NT. HOWEVER, I do have the old hard drive and can pull files off of it.

Can I just over-write the NT 6.5 sub-folder in "My Documents" with the file/folder structure from my previous hard drive, or will there be problems if I do this?

I am not sure if it will work. If the exact same file structure is used, as far as I can see, it should not be an issue.

I suggest to try it and check if your settings will be loaded.

We recommend to transfer settings through the use of a back up file.

Create a backup file as per the instructions at the link below.

Once NinjaTrader created a backup file, it is located at My Documents-->NinjaTrader Backup as .ntbk file.

Copy this file to the other/new PC at the exact same location; My Documents-->NinjaTrader Backup.

Start NinjaTrader and restore your backup file.

Unfortunately the old install would be unavailable because the Hard Drive is no longer connected to the PC (i.e. it doesn't boot from the old hard drive anymore).

Basically all I want are my custom charts & my currency database. Where would those files be located?
