Thanks! I think I begin to understand how this works ;-) If I' got it right it doesn't matter what I write in the field "Master Instrument" as long as it doesn't contain a symbol like "-" or "^" that NT don't accepts. The important thing for the conection with Yahoo to work is that the correct Yahoo symbol for the actual instrument is enterd in the in the "Misc"-tab below the "Symbol map" hedline. In my case "ATCO-A".
The problem was that when I added the Yahoo instrument symbol "ATCO-A" with the on-the-fly-method, the Yhaoo symbol also was automatically added in the master intrument field, although the hyphen isn't a valid symbol in that field, at least not when you enter it manually. When I tried to edit the description field NT suddenly detected the hyphen in the master instrument filed and returned the error mesage.

First ensure you have Daily chart selected. Then Ticker symbols for Yahoo could be different - check on Yahoo Finance website first what is the ticker symbol, then add with instrument manager to your instruments and from then on you should be able to display it on the chart.
As for the difference: For stocks traded at London Stock Exchange all the stocks have ".L" suffix. For example AstraZeneca at LSE is "AZN.L" and that's the symbol you should have in your instrument manager. Hope this helps

Must say is one of the most irritating small issues I've had since at least 1-1.5 years with any product, it cannot take many minutes of programming and verification to fix this very annoying fault.
