IQFeed ?

I am running a simulation test on one computer with IQFeed as the data source and on another computer I am doing strategy development and back-testing. When I connect on this computer to get historical bars for back-testing it loose the connection on the computer that is running the simulation testing and the connections on the computers go back and forth every few seconds, because the IQFeed data-source only allows 1 connection.

If I turn on "Store real-time bar data" on the back-testing machine and in the evening download data. Then can I use that data during trading hours for back-testing on the back-testing machine so I do not have to connect with it? Will this work? Is there a better way to do something like this?

Thank you for your post.

Storing real time data will only work with real time data.

If you log into your backtesting machine in the evening and load the chart this data will be stored in your cache so you will be able to view this data at a later time without needing to be connected.
