    NT hangs during startup

I have being having trouble launching NinjaTrader for the last couple of days (used to work OK in the past).

When I try to open NT, I get the splash screen and it says "loading custom assemblies", "restoring workspace ..." and then it gets stuck in "Verifying vendor license Final/TPOChart at primary server".

I've tried contacting Muly (Finalg) and yet to get a reply.

How do I fix this issue?

TheRightSide, I would suggest starting with a fresh set of workspaces. Please exit NinjaTrader and go to MyDocuments\NinjaTrader 6.5\workspaces and delete the xml files present. Then restart NinjaTrader and see if this makes a difference.

Thanks, Bertrand. I backed up the files in the workspace folder and restarted NT and it's working fine.

Now, how do I go about restoring the workspaces?

Great, since it looks like corrupt workspace files were the underlying issue, there's unfortunately no way to restore those, you can try copying the files back into the folder to check, but I guess your back to the start then...

I guess I will copy the backed up workspace xml files one at a time and restart NT (I've a few and recreating them from scratch is a pain)

Do you see any issues with this approach or is there an easier way to find which xml is corrupt?

No, that should work, just test after each to find the corrupt one.

Why do workspaces become corrupt in the first place? It happens to me all the time. At least once a month. So now I just save a new workspace every week. But again, why does this happen?

                Hi rockafella,

                Thank you for your post.

Workspaces can become corrupted for a variety of reasons. Unfortunately, after a workspace has become corrupted, there is no way to determine the specific cause.
