RSI in NT

Dear all,

I have been reading up on the calculation of RSI on the internet. Then I saw in NinjaTrader, that RSI(Close, Period = 14, Smooth = 1) calculates the first value on the 21th bar (this RSI being the only indicator in the chart), but acording to the logics it should start on the 14th or 15th bar. Moreover, my RSI values never match those in NT, therefore I would like to ask, what procedure NT uses for this specific indicator.

Eubie, with Smooth set to 1 you should see the industry standard RSI value being calculated, to see the source, please review the code in the NinjaScript editor ( Tools > Edit NinjaScript > Indicator > RSI ).

The reason you see no indicator value for the first 20 bars is that you have 'Show unstable Period for indicators' set to 'False' in your chart properties, set this to 'true' and it will calculate from the first bar on the chart on - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...roperties.html
