Formatting Data Series

It's been a few days in a row where I have to format data series for all my charts even though I save my workspace. I like to keep the data series short (say 500 bars) but lately every morning I check and the data series for my charts varies from 55 days to 10 days? Is there an XML file or something I can edit to make sure the date ranges stay put? Am I doing something wrong? I think I have been saving workspaces under new names but that's it. I would appreciate any help with this.

What happens if you do not use the 'Bars back' setting, but the 'Days back' setting? I suggest to use 2-3 days back, depending on the interval and save your workspace. Restart NinjaTrader and check if the values are saved.

In addition, you can set the default 'Days back' setting at Tools-->Options-->Data-tab.

Well I used to use days back but on Mondays it sucks because I like to keep history short--it loads faster that way right? So on a lot of charts 2 days back will have no data on Monday (I chart U.S. equities) and more than 2 days back slows data loading.

edit: ok I just figured out you can exclude the weekends.

But still I like some chart history really really short (150) bars.

You could also use 1 day back as per the amount of historical data.

Unfortunately it is not supported to save the 'Bars back' setting; you will need to manually adjust each new session.
