Running 2 NT @ same time

I currently have NT under 1 license, one instance is running live on xp machine, other instance is used for testing on other machine.

1. Can I sim Trade on "other INstance" to another quote feed if "first instance" is trading live?
I assume no, so can I download free version and sim trade new
strategy.

2. Is it safe to backtest on other instance thru another quote feed
While trading live on first instance.

Thank you for the post.

1) This is not possible since it would violate the End User License Agreement.

2) There are no issues associated with backtesting on one machine while trading live on another, especially if you are connected to two seperate data feeds.

I dont want to violate any license agreements. All I would like to do is capitalize on automation by spending time trying new strategies in "sim" mode.

I believe new potential customers to NT can build strategies and sim trade for free? As a paying customer it would be nice if I could do the same in SIm mode, while my paid NT is trading during the day. Actually it makes sense that if your customers are free to Sim trade new strategies, they are more likely to purchase additional licenses.

Hi,

This is possible if you set it up NinjaTrader on two different PC's and set up one to trade live. While the other is set to trade live the other can trade in sim. The instance running the strategy to backtest will use the Free Edition license, while your live trading will use your Live Edition license.
