Access tick level data from past futures contracts e.g Z 06-09

    Hi,
I have accessed this data for Z 06-09(previous front month) at tick leve from Esignal and also from my Broker. Now that the front month is Z 09-09(Sep t 2009), I can no longer access this data from Esignal nor my Broker.

I thought NT stored this data locally and one would not need to access locally stored data from the provider. I can understand not being able to access tick data for Z 03-09 as I have never accessed that in NT before.

Z 06-09 is an example, my is generic to FDAX FGBL etc.

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

    Thanks,

    Hello SuperDriveGuy,

What happens if you create a Z 06-09 chart when not connected to any data feed?

In addition, please see the link below for information on how NinjaTrader loads historical data.

      Hi Jason,
      That works! Thanks.

If I disconnect from my Broker and access Z 06-09 NT fetches the cached data. I also read your link, how do I ensure that .NET or NT does not clear the cached data?

      Regards,

        Please see the info below:

"Note: The internal cache is managed by the .NET framework so it is unpredictable when the .NET runtime will clear it. In most cases, as long as you have at least one chart of your instrument open, the instrument’s data cache will persist."

However, if you are able to load the historical data without being connected, it indicates the data is saved in your database.
