End of Day trading execution with Ninja ?

    Hi,

I was wondering how ninja trader worked for end-of-day trading ?

If I have set an automated entry, target and stop on an end-of-day chart,

will Ninja Trader have to be opened during the all day for it to be executed ? or

will the order be laying on my broker side ?

    Hello tradingkevin,

If the order resides at the broker or exchange, it will execute without NinjaTrader running. You can check the order status in the State-column of the Orders-tab in the Control Center.

Please see the link below for more information.
Note: This information is relevant for NinjaTrader 7 only. For NinjaTrader 8, please click here (https://ninjatrader.com/support/helpGuides/nt8/where_do_your_orders_reside_.htm). So if I understand it correclty, Ninja trader is of no so useful for end of day traders unless you keep your pc on all day and night ( for forex trading for example ) for it to manage the trades...OR only if you have a broker that offers server based OCO orders. Is that correct ?

( it seems only one broker , interactive broker, offers a OCO )

Yes, you are correct in your assumption.

OCO functionality is supported on IB's servers, so if an OCO order executes while NinjaTrader is closed, the other OCO order is cancelled.

The other OCO order would not be cancelled with other broker technologies aside from TD AMERITRADE.

          Thank you Jason.

It would be nice if Ninja Trader would have it's own server so that it would
send in the order to the different brokers once a target or stop is filled.

I think strategy runners offers that feature which is a nice plus for longer term
          end of day traders.

I will forward your suggestion to our development team and ask them if they can add this to the list of future considerations for the software.

            Thank you for your feedback.
