Logical procedure to learn to code in NT 7 and C#

What would be the logical learning process for a newbie programmer to properly learn to code in C# and then NT 7 ?.

Please suggest specific books or links to manuals, etc.

    Thanks in advance

    j,

I would read over some basic "hello world' kind of material just so you get familiar with the basic syntax and can begin to read the language at some level.
Sorry I don't know a "basic" C# site off hand but just Bing or Google and you will find plenty to read.
Don't waste a lot of time on advanced concepts until you familiarize yourself with the NinjaScript examples in the help file. If you are only going to code Ninja there is much C# you do not need to know.
This site gives some great examples and solutions to common issues and is one of my favorites.

Thanks Gains. Do you know if the NT 7 manual (beta) has been released yet?.

It has not been released yet. For learning NinjaScript the 6.5 manual contains more than enough information to get your toes wet.

The application I'm interested in, uses a multiple data stream, which is only available in NT 7.

          Thanks for the suggestion however.

When will the NT 7 manual be released (estimated)?

Unfortunately I would not know. Multiple data stream works just like it would for multi-series strategies, just over on indicators. There is more than enough information on it in the 6.5 help guide to get you started. http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...ameInstruments

Will all code written in 6.5 port into NT 7 without major alterations?.

For the most part code will be able to translate over. There may be some that need tweaking, but it shouldn't be anything drastic.

I would like a VolumeSpreadAnalysisVSA, Wycoff) type indcator done. for Ninja Trader

UPthrust=Bar w/high>= prior 2 bars with close in bottom 1/3 and volume >=prior bar... would be nice to be able to adjust the 1/3 and the =vol to vol %... mark with a red down arrow
DNthrust=Bar w/Low<= prior 2 bars with close in top 1/3 and volume >=prior bar... would be nice to be able to adjust the 1/3 and the =vol to vol %... mark with a green up arrow

The Ninja wizard doesnt have means to do this I dont think, and I am not a programmer. Can you explain how to or do it quickly and post it?

                  Thanks, BillyBob

                    Hello,

This will take considerable programming. I suggest having one of our NinjaScript consultants do it:

                      learning programming

i used the strategy wizard to develop the basic code and then convert it into an indicator by creating an indicator and copying the components from the strategy. works pretty well as a starting point on getting yourself oriented to coding
