    Interactive Broker Upgrade

    I checked my IB TWS platform for a trade confirmation and it was not there. I checked with IB and they asked me for my IB TWS release. I am using Build 887.2 August 28, 2008. IB said that the version was too old and I needed an upgrade. I told them I was using NT.

    What do I do?

    Thank you for your post.

    1.) Please make sure you are on the latest version of NinjaTrader 6.5.1000.10. You can check under Help --> About.
    If not, please download from this link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/do...g_software.htm

    2.) Please upgrade to the supported version of TWS, 892 from here: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/su...ivebrokers.htm

      Do I have to uninstall NT to do the upgrade? I have 6.5.1000.9.

      Do I have to uninstall TWS and reinstall the later version?

      I certainly hope I do not?

        No, you can install the latest NinjaTrader version on top of your current version.

        I believe you can install TWS on top of the existing version as well, however I suggest to contact IB Support to have this confirmed.

          Since I have to use the TWS platform that you recommend, is there not some way that I can be alerted when I am supposed to upgrade rather than have some critical functionality fail and ask why? Same goes for NT.

            When there is an updated version of NinjaTrader available to dowload, a pop up screen will appear when you start NinjaTrader.

            The release notes, which will include if NinjaTrader supports a new version of TWS, are located in the Help Guide here: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...easeNotes.html

                Not sure why this would occur.

                Beta release of NinjaTrader 7 is scheduled to be out by the end of the month.

                If you don't receive a popup after this is released, please let us know.
