    Multiple Connections

    Hi all...

I have a few servers running NT, but I don't have enough data accounts to feed them all, and it seems pointless to pay for multiple data accounts with the same service provides. So... my question is...

Is there a way to connect NinjaTrader to TWS or TS over the network? For instance, I'd like to run TS or TWS, and replicate the data real time to more than one NinjaTrader client.

Does NT connect to TWS/TS though the appliction layer, or somewhere lower on the OSI model - like the network layer? I assume it's the network layer since TWS permits connections by IP???

    Any thoughts?

    Regards,

    Brian

        Hi Brian,

        Unfortunately not with TWS.

How do I edit the *.dll? I opened it in notepad and it was just a bunch of garbage.

Unfortunately dlls are compiled assemblies that are not editable.

Okay... I think have that working now, but when I'm connected to TradeStation, I'm not able to connect to any other data feed. What good is the data I'm receiving from TradeStation if I'm not able to place trades in my other accounts?

I was thinking I'd be able to pull data from TradeStation, and place trades in my Zen-Fire account? Would that be possible?

              Thanks,

              Brian

                Hi heyligerb,

                Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, this is expected behavior. When connected to the External Datafeed, you will not be able to connect to any other feeds.

I havn't tried out, but since you specify the network address (usually 127.0.0.1) it should be possible to connect to another PC specifying the other PCs network address. Port 7496 or the one you use must be open also. Remember that TWS runs also on UNIX where TCP is omnipresent.

Expect some security problems with Vista (less with XP). You might have to search the microsoft knowledgebase on how to get all working (firewall , etc)

So try it out... My feeling is that it will work. And If I remember you can also connect more than one client to TWS. Check also the TWSAPI stuff.

Funny... I was thinking the same thing. I'll let you know if it works.
