Interactive Brokers Restart?

I am going to ask IB as well about this, but I am going to start trading currencies and do not feel like staying up till 1:30 in the morning to turn my system on. I am working with MacroExpress to automate turning NT on, but that has some challenges as it does not like to run when the console is locked. I have a work around, and will test later on.

My question . . . does IB still require user to log off at night, and if so, does anyone have a way to work around this?

In an ideal world, I would love to run NT, and if IB kills the connection, NT brings it up automatically. It would save me the box of Band-Aids I am using now.

Thomas, yes I think this needed daily reconnect is still in place. NinjaTrader would attempt reconnecting when a connection is lost, but not in this case as you would need to restart TWS itself. NinjaTrader 7 will add features that will address strategy persistence across trading sessions.

Sounds great, even if it means that when NinjaTrader starts, you can select one of the connections as a default on startup, and it automatically connects. I have been working with a MacroExpress Macro, but it does not like remote desktop so it is a little tricky to get it to work right. When can we expect version 7?
