    Getting rid of historical data

I was having trouble with NT; so I upgraded to .10 and reset the database. How do I delete the historical data (I have a huge amount, and I thought the reset would get rid of it)

    thanks, Bruce

    Hello Bruce,

You can delete historical data via Tools-->Historical Data-->Delete.

Can you please tell me where do you see 22 instruments listed in the software.

You can remove instruments from your instrument list in the Instrument Manager. Please see the instructions at the link below.

          delete data

Under tools>historical data>delete. I've deleted each instrument, but they are still there. Also I made sure I selected the proper date range and intervals.

Can you please tell me where in the software the instruments are still listed.

Deleting historical data as per the instructions provided in post #2, will delete historical data in the database only; it will not delete the instrument.

If you like to delete the instruments from your instrument list, please see the instructions at the link below.

If you like to delete the instruments completely, please highlight the instrument in the 'Available master instruments' section and hit Delete.

              delete data

I removed the instruments via instrument manager..(except for one as required.) Now I need to remove the huge list of historical data under "market replay connection". I have data going back to 4-15-2008, well over a year. Using Reset DB didn't remove that list.

Ok, you are referring the recorded Market Replay data as well. Please close NinjaTrader and go to My Documents-->NinjaTrader 6.5-->db-->data. You will see date folders for each date you recorded data. Delete the folders you like. Please do not make any other changes in the db-->data-folder.
