    Importing Historical Data

    Hi,

Noob here. I tried importing historical data into NT, following the help file etc. I was given the pop up that the import was successful. However, I cant chart them. The chart remains empty. Tried restarting NT, but to no avail. I cannot understand the trace file. When i tried to export the data, I was given the messsage No historical data found. How to I get to access the data i imported and how can i remove the data that i previously imported when NT does not recognize them.

    Help appreciated

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

The name of the .txt file MUST be the EXACT name of the instrument.

So ES 06-09.txt for example for the ES 06-09.

If it still does not work, please post your .txt file so I can test.

Here is the file. The data actually goes all the way back to 1971 Jan, but i removed the bulk of the data to reduce the size of the file.

        This is tick data, correct?

I see that the HHmmss data is all zeros:

        20081118 000000;0.6575;1 for example.

Therefore, it will not be plotted as there is no time to plot the data at.

            Hi stein,

I went back and changed my data to something like 20081118 000100;0.6575;1 for example. However, the chart is still blank.

              Try naming the file $AUDUSD.txt.

Ok. I managed to rectify the problem, by changing the data to the daily format.
