Difference btw Strategy on Charts & Strategy Tabs

Can I check whether the "min bar required" setting works differently in on Charts vs using it in Strategy Tabs. If I set the setting to 20 bar, in charts we can load a few day history, but in the Strategy Tabs, does the strategy start after 20 bar on the day the strategy is loaded or does it use historical bars in its calculation as well?

Also, is it less resource intensive if I load strategies on Strategy Tabs vs loading it on Charts?

You should find it to be the same regardless of where you start it. If you want to see I suggest you just print the timestamp of all processed bars. The first bar print you receive is the first bar being processed.

Strategies tab may be less intensive because there is nothing to chart.

If it is the same, what use does the "min bar required" have? Say if I load a strategy on strategy tab today, the min bar required is 20. Is the 20 bar based on today data or based on historical data?

Also is it possible that the strategy will be processed with some lag on the charts and would the calculation of indicator values be consistent between the charts and the strategy tab? I notice if I put the same strategy on, one on the charts and one on the strategy tab sometimes the strategy tab fire off a trade but the chart doesn't.

Not sure why being the same has impact on the purpose of it. The purpose of it is to ensure you have enough data to be able to properly calculate the indicator values used in your strategy.

Strategies tab loads up a historical data. The amount loaded is by what you have outlined in Tools->Options->Data for the data bars type you have selected.

You would want to use TraceOrders output to see whats happening if you feel one strategy is not trading. Running from the chart and the tab should be nearly identical when started from the same data point.
