data base backup

My primary trading station operates with windows XP but my laptop has vista. I am attempting to move my backed up recorded data from my XP to my vista, I have moved data from XP system to XP system before and it is relatively simple. When the vista system goes to unpack the data it just seems to hang there, and nothing happens then if I quit abort it gives an error signal and shuts down the system. Has anyone heard of that before and how did you solve that?

Hi Pete, are you referring to restoring the NinjaTrader database file? If this is relatively big, please give it enough time to do the restore process. Which error message exactly did you get?

its 500 mega bytes.
On the other XP system that I have sent it to it took 2 minutes. I don't think its the size.

Hi Pete, are you restoring to a 32 or 64 bit Vista system?

its a 64 bit system

Thanks Pete, unfortunately 64 bit systems are not supported by us for NinjaTrader 6.5 - this could be the reason you see this issue. Does the same database restore well on the 32 bit one?
