Serialization Error

I continue to receive an intermittant indicator serialization error at runtime.

I disconnect my data feed and repair my DB which usually fixes the issue but I would like to know how to circumvent this issue before it occurs again.

Hello,

Please go to Tools --> Edit NinjaScript --> Indicator and open any indicator and press F5 to compile.
You will have to debug an NinjaScript files that have errors.

All indicators compile correctly.

These indicators have been working fine for some time but intermittantly I get the Serilization error.

Normally when I repair my DB the error go away but I would like to know how to remove the issue before they occur.

It looks like your indicator XYZ is causing an issue.

-What steps do you take to reproduce the issue?
-If you remove this indicator, does the issue persist?
(Test this by going to \Documents\NinjaTrader6.5\bin\custom\indicator\and moving the indicator from this file, then restart NinjaTrader.)

Is there any explanation as to why this happens intermittantly and not consistently?

It will work for days without an issue and then it hits.

Sounds like a different error.

Any ideas on what needs to change in the indicator?

There are many reasons why this may happen.... try doing a search on 'serialization' in this Support Forum.

This may also be due to a corrupt Microsoft .NET.
1.) Uninstall any instance of Microsoft .NET Framework from the Window's Control Panel.
2.) Reinstall .NET from this page: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/su...ationguide.htm

I have recently rebuilt my machine with a clean install of XP - Removed Vista.
Will see if this helps.

Same problem, different OS

ive just upgraded my pc and now am on vista. Recompiled my custom indicators and found that ive got the same problems gyoung had.

is there a way i can reinstall the .NET framework on vista? Doesnt seem possible. Also, my indicators compile properly.

Iangohye,
The reason I removed Vista is that I was experiencing too many issues to have a stable trading platform. My environment has been much more stable since I rolled back to XP.
I am developing custom indicators and it was very frustrating to have issues related to Vista.
