    workspaces corruption?

    I have a problem with loading a workspace that I have used every day without problems so far.
    I can see it is in My documents, it is not empty and I have (tried to )accesse(d) it this morning.
    NT was stuck on "saving", some data I presume, for 10 minutes. I guess it sort of crashed and I disconnected from eSignal and said "no to all" when I exited.
    I have re-loaded NT and when I try to load on the workspace nothing happens.
    I have created another workspace with 2 sample charts and this works, but my important one does not.
    I have searched the forum and I think that the closer explanation is that the file became corrupt.
    Nevertheless I would like to try to see if I can restore it somehow, as it will take me ages to reproduce it.

    This happens to me once or twice a week and its so frustrating having to create all my charts again.

      Hi gretrader, yes the points to a corrupted workspace file - unfortunately it's not possible to restore those.

        SO, what would be the best way to tackle this problem in the future?
        I have saved the templates for every chart and will save it every time I change anything (hope I will remember!). I will do more back-ups.......what else?


        As a PS, and on a remotely related issue, may I suggest that you introduce a little "safety net" device that asks you if you really want to close a chart when you click on the cross in the top right end corner?
        It happened to me a couple of times that instead of maximising/minimising a chart I accidentally clicked on that cross and lost the chart for good.

          Hi gretrader, thanks for your suggestion and input - yes backups are recommended in those situations. We also advise not to save your customizations in the 'default' workspace as this will improve loading time.
