Bug in the Account Performance?

Hi,
I was playing yesterday with the Account Performance and could not understand any digits until I disabled the "Group by Strategy" check box. When the option is disabled digits make sense and comply with trades. But when the option is enabled... Looks like total mess to me. Trades are missing etc.

Hello Rodion,

Thank you for your post.

Trades will be grouped into one display that took place under the same strategy. They are not missing, just grouped together.

But I guess the totals should not change, should they?
I mean if for a particular day I see the total profit of 100.00 with grouping disabled, I should see exactly same total profit for the same day with grouping enabled. Isn't that right?

You are correct, it should show the same cum. profit with that checked or not.

Make sure you are on the latest version of NinjaTrader 6.5.1000.9. You can check under Help --> About.

Please try repairing your database: Tools --> Options --> Misc --> Repair DB.

I've installed the latest NT last week, so I guess it is the latest. I'll try to fix the data base when I get home.
Do you see no changes in total profit when you check/uncheck that option?

Trades Profit/Loss

On NT that when you plot the Trades Profit Loss Graph under the Account Performance tab the strategy is tiggering 5 contracts to be sold and all five appear as separate trades on this graph? I just want one point on the graph no matter how many contracts were triggered by the strategy... not all of them next to each other as separate trades. Any ideas?

Try checking "Group trades by ATM strategy" in the upper right corner of the Account Performance tab.
Then regenerate performance.

I've tried to repair DB and there was no difference: I change the grouping option and cumulative totals change, graph changes.
This may be important: I entered a trade with a custom strategy selected. Then the strategy partially closed a position (for example when the 1st target was reached.) then I closed the position manually with the "Close" button. Looks like that executions resulted in the "Close" button click are not considered by Account Performance tool.

I just tested with a 3 target ATM and hit CLOSE after the 1st target was hit.
The cum. PnL matches with 'Group trades..' checked or unchecked.

1. Make sure u are on the current version, see post #4.

2. Reset your sim account under Tools --> Options --> Simulator --> Reset.

3. Test with the simulated data feed. If the issue persists, let me know the exact steps you tried, so I can test.

Thanks for the idea.. but this doesnt work... I still get five triangles per trade ... each representing a contract....

1.) Are you using an ATM Strategy or NinjaScript?

2.) Make sure to hit the generate button after selecting "Group trades..."

I am using Ninjascript... and I do press the generate performance button as instructed.
